it’s nice to meet you, lovely!
let’s get to know eachother
my writing story began…
Similar to most hopeless romantic writers, I’m sure. I was a young girl obsessed with books and those books usually had to have romance. I actually read more paranormal/dystopian/fantasy when I was younger. Think Twilight and The Selection Series.
That love of books eventually intertwined with my fangirl tendencies and I started writing—you guessed it—fanfiction. Justin Bieber fanfiction to be exact. I know, I know, I should be embarrassed. But I’m not, at all. Writing online taught me a lot about what readers loved and what kept them reading a story. It also was great practice, which is what all writers say to do.
Later on, in my college years, I started writing angsty Christian college romance. I didn’t think anyone would read clean/closed door romance much less Christian romance. I’m so glad I was wrong! My stories took off, and I began to think that maybe, just maybe, this could be more than a hobby.
when i wrote my first novel i couldn’t help but wonder:
would anyone even read this?
Little did I know, this would turn into my career.
I went from writing on Wattpad to actually selling books. It felt like overnight, but really it was a lot of work. I made the switch from angst to romcom after an indie romcom book binge. I realized I loved writing friendships and humor the most, so it made sense for me to have a home in this genre.
Then I set out to write the best debut I could. My husband was my biggest supporter, but my bookstagram besties were amazing too! Every teaser I posted got such great feedback that I couldn’t wait to publish.
Once I did, the Sweet Peach Series (gradually) took off and my life has been a whirlwind ever since. Now I write as my full-time job, which has been my unspoken dream since I was a little girl. I get to meet readers like you and put my daydreams onto paper that people buy. I’m beyond grateful.
